Wrapped In Hope

How did Wrapped In Hope come to fruition?

Good Question!!

As soon as the shock wore off of getting a cancer diagnosis, I knew I wanted to do something for other people in my situation! I wanted to make an impact, help others, be a resource, but I just didn't know what that would look like or how I would make it happen. So, after treatment, I did the Pumpkin Festival pageant in Milton, WV. Something that has always been a very small desire in the back of my mind but not anything I would have ever done. Well, I lost! But honestly, that was the best outcome for me at the time! During that pageant, I met several young women who expressed their desire to start a non-profit for various different causes. My husband, Bryan, and I were out for a walk one day and I was telling him about the ladies I had met and the desires they had. He said to me "why don't you start a non-profit?". I instantly answered him with- "A non-profit is not my thing, Breast Cancer is my thing". And that was that. Then a couple days later, it hit me- Duh, Erin- A non-profit is how you can reach people and help in the way you're wanting to!

So I got everyone on board! My daughter, Zoey, designed the logo. Bryan helped me work up a plan, a couple friends helped me come up with a name, and I knew exactly what I wanted to offer- A shirt with a zipper at the collar for easier access to the mediport! My Aunt Leoda had made me several shirts like this, and they were so handy!
